Sand-dwellers are spoiled for choice with plenty of amazing beaches in Larnaca. One of the most popular is Finikoudes Beach, while Kastella Beach is another Blue Flag-winner thanks to its calm water and fine sand. Alaminos Beach takes a little effort to find but you are rewarded with a much less crowded stretch of sand.

Like many Mediterranean destinations, Larnaca is blessed with hot and dry summers and mild winters. If you love the idea of spending days sprawled out on the beach, June to October is ideal. If you prefer things a little less crowded, aim for the shoulder seasons of spring (March to May) or autumn/fall (September to November).

Check out the local sites – the Larnaca Salt Lake, Medieval Castle of Larnaca (also referred to as Larnaca Fort), the ancient city of Kition’s archaeological site and the Agios Lazaros Church are a must-see for all visitors.
