Travel Advisory: Travel to Mozambique Amid Political Unrest
Travel to Mozambique: Our customers remain our number one priority, and we are monitoring the situation in Mozambique closely, both in terms of traveller safety and how it may impact travel in and out of Mozambique over the next few days.
South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation has issued a travel advisory encouraging South Africans to postpone non-essential visits to the country until further notice.
To date, the political protests have been concentrated around Mpumalanga’s Lebombo Border Post (forcing the temporary closure of the border), in the capital city of Maputo and other urban centres. Traditional tourist destinations and resorts have been unaffected. But given heightened tensions in the region and the potential risk to traveller safety, Flight Centre has also advised clients to consider delaying non-essential travel, while visitors already in the country should avoid hotspots, avoid being out on the road, and avoid crowds or public gatherings.
If you have any questions or concerns or if your immediate travel plans have been affected, please reach out to your Flight Centre travel expert to discuss next steps.
