With the cost of living on the rise, you might be second-guessing that long-awaited Europe trip. But we are here to save the day, and your wallet! From one scrimping-and-saving traveller to the next, here’s a glimpse at 10 of the epic things you can do for under 10 euros in the UK and Europe.

Barcelona, Spain - Treat yourself to churros and chocolate

No trip to Spain would be complete without enjoying one of the country’s most loved treats – churros con chocolate! Barcelona has an entire street known as Carrer de Petritxol which is lined with some of the city’s best churros stores.  

How much? 

Prices will vary depending on which store you go to, but for around five euros, you can get yourself a churro and some thick drinking chocolate to go with it.  

Anywhere in Italy – Buy a bottle of Italian wine

Italy is famous for its wine producing regions, from Tuscany to Campania. Thankfully, you can also score a beautiful drop for as little as a few measly euros. While prices can vary between not-so-great, great and really great wines, a bottle of mid-range local Italian wine can range between 4.50 and 12 euros – so there are plenty of great options under 10 euros! 

While you are at it, why not pair it with a local cheese which you can pick up from the markets for as little as seven euros in some cases.

Split, Croatia – Visit St Domnius Cathedral and climb the Bell Tower

Diocletian’s Palace is one of the best-preserved, still-standing ancient Roman buildings on the planet. Inside, check out St Domnius Cathedral and climb to the top of the 60-metre-tall Bell Tower (which in itself took four centuries to build). Why? The views, of course. 

How much?

You can get a ticket to explore the Cathedral, Bell Tower and Treasury for 9.29 euros. 

London, England – Visit the many free galleries and museums

Yep! For absolutely nothing, you can get into some of the world’s best and most famous museums in London. We’re talking about the National Gallery, Royal Air Force Museum, Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Imperial War Museum and stacks more. And there’s no catch.

Berlin, Germany – Go to the top of the Reichstag

The Reichstag is shiny, modern and super interesting. As the home of German Parliament since 1999, it was designed to represent transparency in government (it’s literally a glass cupola/dome). Wind round and round, up the spiral pathway to the rooftop terrace for gorgeous Berlin panoramas. Our only tip? Book your spot online a day or two in advance. It’s worth it. 

How much?

Admission is free, but you will be required to register first if you are planning to visit.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands – See the iconic windmills of Zaanse Schans

It’s a beautiful yet fun and cheap trip from Amsterdam. Zaanse Schans is home to eight iconic windmills with funny names like the Cat (de kat), the Spotted Hen (de bonte hen) and the Cloverleaf (het klaverblad), plus local museums and bakeries. All you have to do is ride the train from Amsterdam Central to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans. Easy! 

How much?

4.70 euros each way for a train ticket. 

Prague, Czech Republic – Chill out and swim at Zlute Lazne

This one is a bit of a well-kept secret (and the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing). Perched on the banks of the Vltava River, Zlute Lazne is the place to go for a dose of sandy beaches, a few drinks and fun activities like rowboats and longboards. Perfect for hanging out and going for a swim to cool down. 

How much?

Entry to Zlute Lazne for adults is 100 Czech Koruna (approximately 4.13 euros).

Paris, France – Picnic in the park with a baguette

The average price for a baguette in Paris is 1.07 euros, so why not head to one of the city's many bakeries and grab yourself a couple, and maybe even an extra treat, and head off on a picnic. The city is filled with tons of glorious green spaces to sit back and enjoy a relaxing moment in. 

How much? 

Baguettes: around 1.07 euros. Park: absolutely free!
