As the sunset comes into view, the Mindil Beach Markets come to life. This popular event takes market-goers on a fun filled entertainment and culinary journey, offering both live performance and great foods from around the world.
Taking place every Thursday and Sunday night between April and October the markets attract many locals who make a night of it with family and friends. In addition to all the delicious food there are many vendors selling arts and crafts, handmade jewellery and clothing.
There are also five performance areas at the markets, offering everything from live music to street performers and more. The main stage offers a large grassy area and is the perfect place for an audience to enjoy music while sampling all the delicious foods from the market.
The Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are located just over 2 kilometres from the Darwin CBD making for an easy walk. City bus #4 offers service to the markets also. Parking is limited and public transport is recommended. If driving, entry is off of Gilruth Avenue.
