The Denver Botanic Gardens offer beautiful natural settings in the heart of downtown Denver. The gardens celebrate its western location through native flora species as well as other plant life from around the world. The botanic garden’s also highlights unique plants, flowers and shrubbery that thrive in the higher altitude environment of the region.
Many of the plants and landscapes displayed at Denver’s Botanic Gardens showcase plants and flowers that thrive not only in higher altitudes but in the often dry conditions of the western U.S. The gardens are filled with plants that are able to survive drought conditions and it offers excellent examples for beautiful landscaping alternatives for regions that suffer from drought conditions or arid settings.
The Denver Botanic Gardens consist of three separate locations with its main York Street location just minutes from Downtown Denver. This park features a diverse collection of beautiful gardens with global representation. Just some of the lovely displays include exotic plants located within the temperate climate of the garden’s conservatory, the South African Plaza with its South African flora and an authentic Japanese Garden. There is also a wonderful Rocky Mountain recreation which is reminiscent of the lovely settings found throughout Colorado.
From Downtown Denver, take I-25 South and exit at 6th Avenue continuing east (left). Proceed on 6th Avenue for about 2.75 miles and turn left on Josephine Street. Continue on Josephine for about 3 ½ blocks and turn left into the Denver Botanic Garden’s car park located between 9th and 10th Streets. The park offers free parking for its visitors across from the entrance to the gardens.
