Featuring four floors of exciting, interactive exhibits, the Orlando Science Center is a popular family attraction that enables learning in a fun way. Its goal is to broaden the understanding and enjoyment of science and technology through fun filled hands-on experiences and interesting films and shows.
The Orlando Science Center opened its state-of-the-art complex in 1997. Housed in a magnificent facility, the building encompasses a CineDome with a theatre and planetarium where fascinating shows are presented, and an observatory that holds the largest public refractor telescope in Florida.
There are an additional four floors of exhibits that both kids and adults will enjoy. What Star Wars film buff wouldn’t enjoy the Science of Star Wars exhibit with its film artefacts and even a Millennium Falcon flight simulator! Another popular area is the DinoDigs exhibit showcasing dinosaurs in various settings. Those interested in Florida’s unique environment will also enjoy an in-depth exhibit on the state’s oceans, marshes, swamps and lands as well as its native flora and fauna.
The science center is located in Loch Haven Park on Orlando’s north side. Take U.S. Interstate 4 north to exit 83A and follow N. Garland Avenue to N. Orange Avenue. Make a right on Princeton Street for the entrance to the center.
