Dublin Airport (DUB) has come a long way since its beginnings as a grass airfield in a remote location in 1940. Today, Dublin operates up to 600 flights a day around the country and beyond, with London and New York among the most popular international destinations. The newly opened Terminal 2 has made room for further expansion of air travel through the airport. Dublin Airport offers great shopping at ‘The Loop’ where you can snap up some premium brands at duty free prices before jetting off, and there are over 30 eateries to visit for a quick coffee, sandwich or pint.

Check-in

If you’re travelling from Terminal 1 you’ll need to head to the Departures Hall on the first floor to visit the check-in desks. Check-in for long haul flights opens 3 hours propr to departure, with medium haul check-in open 2 hours prior. If you’re flying from Terminal 2, check-in desks are located on the ground floor. US-bound passengers will need to complete US Preclearance at the US Customs and Border Patrol facility in Terminal 2 prior to departure. Upon arrival in the US, passengers will be processed as domestic passengers.

Baggage

Short and long-term luggage storage is available at the airport so you can leave some of your bags behind while you spend some time visiting the city of Dublin before jetting off to your next destination. The left luggage facility is located in the Terminal 1 Short-Term Car Park Atrium, and is open from 6am to 11pm daily.

Money Exchange

Swapping your holiday money at the airport is straightforward, with International Currency Exchange bureaus conveniently located in each terminal including at the Baggage Hall and Check-In Hall.

Internet Access / WiFi

Passengers flying in and out of Dublin Airport can enjoy complimentary high speed WiFi access on personal internet devices. Paid internet kiosks with printing facilities are also available throughout both terminals.

Business Services

If you need to keep on top of business during your travels, head to one of the airport’s exclusive ‘Executive Lounges’. This paid lounge service offers a restful place to catch up on work in a comfortable and relaxed setting, as well as a dedicated Business Centre and complimentary high speed WiFi.

Family Services

Keep little ones entertained while in transit at Dublin Airport, with a brightly coloured designated play space set up in the mezzanine area of Terminal 1 surrounded by food and beverage outlets including McDonalds. Baby change facilities are available in a number of locations throughout both terminals including the Arrivals Hall and Departure area. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 both feature pharmacies in their ‘Loop’ retail areas should you need to stock up on wipes or Calpol for the journey.

Concierge

For a little extra assistance navigating the airport procedures, Dublin Airport offers a paid concierge service. A dedicated assistance will meet and greet you before assisting your through check-in and security and on to your departure gate. The concierge service is also available to escort passengers arriving into Dublin Airport to their onward transport. Concierge assistance is available in both terminals daily from 4am to 11pm. Dublin Airport also provides a ‘Platinum Service’ which goes beyond concierge services, offering guests exclusive car park access outside the Platinum Suite, private check-in, baggage handling and security, and even chauffeur service to and from your aircraft.

If you’d like to freshen up while in transit through Dublin Airport, head to the paid airport lounges, where you can enjoy hot shower facilities as well as light refreshments.

Airport Lounges

Dublin Airport Executive Lounges are located in both Terminals 1 and 2, and are accessible to any departing passengers for up to 3 hours for a fee of €19.95 per person. Both lounges are open from 5am until 8.30pm daily, providing a relaxed space in a comfortable air-conditioned setting. Facilities include complimentary drinks and snacks, with WiFi, magazines and newspapers available for entertainment. The Executive Lounges also feature a dedicated business centre where passengers can get caught up on work in a quiet setting.

Airline Lounges

The Aer Lingus Gold Circle Lounge located in Terminal 2 is spacious and modern with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac. Guests can kick back and relax in comfy pod style chairs and watch TV, catch up on business via complimentary WiFi. Other facilities include hot showers, a self-service food and beverages section, and a quiet zone complete with coffee station. The split-level lounge also has a feature waterfall set against a two storey stonewall listing significant Irish events throughout modern history. Open from 5am to 9pm daily, the Aer Lingus lounge is accessible to Business and Flex Fare passengers travelling with the airline, Gold Circle Prestige and Elite loyalty cardholders, and United Airlines codeshare passengers. Paid lounge access is also available for €25 per person.

Terminal 1

Dublin’s original terminal services a range of airlines including Ryanair, Lufthansa, SAS, British Airways, CityJet, Air Canada, Swiss Air, Air Southwest and WestJet. Browse the shops before you hop on your flight at Terminal One’s ‘The Loop’ offering a great range of gift, jewellery and fashion shops both landside and airside. There are also lots of places to grab a sandwich, juice or coffee before your Terminal 1 flight.

Terminal 2

Completed in 2010, Dublin Airport’s modern and spacious Terminal 2 now services all Aer Lingus flights, with the capability to handle up to 35 million passengers a year. Other airlines operating from this terminal include American Airways, US Airways, United, Emirates, Etihad and Delta. Terminal 2 features a US pre-clearance immigration facility to process the large numbers of US bound traffic.

Buses, Taxis and Car Hire

Dublin Airport has great public transport links with over 700 buses servicing the airport, giving you a range of options to make your way to or from the city and beyond. Air Link provides a bus / rail network to get you to and from the airport quickly and cheaply, and the Airport Hopper is another option with daily shuttle services linking the airport and some prime locations in Dublin city including The Square Tallaght, Newlands Cross and The Mill Shopping Centre. Aircoach also services the airport from locations around Dublin and beyond to Cork and Belfast. If you’re in a rush, taxi is another option, with set down and ranks right at the forecourt of Terminals 1 and 2. If you’d prefer to make your own way around, choose from some of the major brand names in car hire, with Hertz, Budget, Avis, Europcar and more operating out of both terminals.

Parking

Short Stay

There are 3,600 short-stay car park places at Dublin Airport, with parking open 24-hours a day. Short term parking starts at €3 for the first hour, and €4.50 per hour after that, with a maximum daily rate of €40.

Long Stay

If you need to leave the car at Dublin Airport while you take a trip, there’s plenty of availability with around 14,000 long-term car parking spaces available at the airport. Long stay parking charges start at €7.50 per day. Free shuttle bus transfers operate frequently, taking between 5-10 minutes to reach terminals.
