If you’re visiting Cabo for the revelry and social scene, the main Medano Beach is the place to be. It is popular for its beach parties, lively bars and restaurants. Spring breakers flock to Medano as it is home to the famous Nikki Beach area, a prime partying spot.
As its name suggests, Playa del Amor or Lover’s Beach is ideal for honeymooners. The secluded beach can be reached only by water taxi and is famous for its turquoise waters, rock formations and caves.
For something in between, beautiful Solmar Beach is perfect for a sunset stroll or a morning jog. Though swimming is not recommended due to its strong currents, admiring the water from the shore has made it a hot spot for whale watching.
Cabo aims to please and also boasts countless water activities such as sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling and sport fishing. If you prefer to stay on dry land, the Cabo del Sol Golf Course is worth a visit. For the adventurous, the nearby desert is popular for ATV rides and zip-line tours.

Bar-hopping is common in Cabo as most bars and nightclubs are within a convenient four-block radius called the Plaza Bonita. Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo bars are considered landmarks and tourist favourites.

For vacationers chasing the party scene, staying near Medano Beach is the best bet. For those after more secluded and tranquil accommodation, try the neighbouring San Jose Del Cabo area.

Shopping in Cabo ranges from designer brands to unique and independent stores. The Shoppes at Palmilla plaza in San Jose Del Cabo is known for funky boutiques and diverse jewellery stores. Luxury Avenue is a high-end shopping mall near the Marina, with designer brands like Burberry, Tiffany & Co and Cartier.
For souvenirs, Plaza Artesanos in San Jose Del Cabo and the Plaza Puerto Paraiso in the Downtown Cabo area are worth visiting. There are vendors everywhere in Cabo selling handmade trinkets and traditional ornaments. They pop up at the beach too, so you can shop from the comfort of your daybed on the sand.
Cabo San Lucas Like a Local
If you relish culture and spirituality, plan to be in Cabo on the first and second of November for the ritual called the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). All the locals gather in the large Panteon (cemetery) in San Jose del Cabo to pay their respects to deceased family members and loved ones. There is live music and everyone brings food and drink to celebrate the lives and memories of those who have passed.
