If you're up for a bit of an adventure, Mexico is a great destination for backpacking with plenty of budget-friendly hostels throughout the country. On the other end of the scale, there is a wide variety of luxury and boutique hotels in seaside Tulum, historical Merida, vibrant Playa del Carmen, laidback Todos Santos on the peninsular and, of course, the capital Mexico City.
